Public Schools

All but two of the 16 public schools in Kingwood - nine elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools – belong to Humble Independent School District (ISD). The two that do not - one elementary school and one middle school – are part of neighboring New Caney ISD. Of the 1,020 school districts in Texas, both Humble ISD and New Caney ISD are among the fastest growing.
Humble ISD has a long and dedicated commitment to excellence in Texas education, owing in part to the support of families and business partners. Parents support teachers by volunteering their time in the schools, and the Humble Council of PTAs plays a vital role in the success of the students. All campuses have active PTA/PTO or PTSA organizations, as well as dynamic booster clubs for sports and fine arts groups. Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their children's education.
New Caney Independent School District encompasses more than 86 square miles in Montgomery County. Originally organized as a common school district in 1938, it was converted to an independent school district in 1957.
Today, enrollment has grown to more than 19,000 students and 20 campuses including three comprehensive high schools and one early college high school. New Caney ISD and the community are committed to designing modern learning environments in high quality facilities, providing students with a wide range of opportunities for college and career exploration.
Lone Star College

Lone Star College-Kingwood is one of seven main campuses in the Lone Star College system, which is the largest college in the Houston area and one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the country. The Kingwood campus opened in 1984 with approximately 1,000 students and today is the educational institution of choice for more than 11,000 students.​
LSC-Kingwood offers students a variety of academic courses and programs, including dental assisting, dental hygiene, nursing, occupational therapy assistant, respiratory care programs, fire training, and performing and visual arts exhibitions, productions, and concerts.
